True Beauty Starts on the Inside

Not long ago, I had the pleasure to sit down and visit with a young and upcoming community advocate in Ft. Worth, Ms. Nicole Woolridge. Nicole and I met at the launch gala for her new organization called So BeYOUtiful. So BeYOUtiful was created by Nicole out of her own life experiences in dealing with low self-esteem, being bullied, and losing herself to the world for awhile. She spent time searching for meaning in her young life, self worth, and for the Lord. After having been through this, and now being a junior high teacher, Nicole is at the right place at the right time to see that other girls do not have to go through what she did. Spanning all ages, So BeYOUtiful will cater to the needs of young ladies relating to health, hygene, ettiquite, spiritual needs, job skills, and more. One particular experience that drives Nicole is having watched someone close to her go through an almost identical experience as her at a young age as well. “I saw what she went through,” Nicole says “and I decided that I could no longer be silent about my life experiences. Maybe now, because of me, one less young lady will have to live life feeling like she is less than what God created her to be.” Well Nicole, you are off to a great start, and I salute you! To learn more about what Nicole is up to, and So BeYOUtiful, please visit her website at www.SoBeYOUtiful.com which will be up and running in the coming weeks, so stay tuned! In the meantime, what were your biggest struggles in Jr. High? Did you have someone to mentor you during that time? What would you say to your Jr. High self if you could go back in time?
